San Agustinillo is a tiny fishing village along Mexico’s Oaxaca coast. At the local high school, Coast 2 Coast facilitated photography workshops with students on self and community identity. Students photographed themselves, their interests, and their surroundings, asking themselves the question: “Who am I?” and presented their photos to their peers and teachers. As part of the presentation, Coast 2 Coast played short films made by other youth from across South America and Patagonia’s The Fisherman’s Son. Students resinated with Ramon’s upbringing and were inspired by his surfing and travels while maintaining a deep-rooted connection to this community.
San Agustinillo es un pequeño pueblo de pescadores, a través de la costa de Oaxaca. En la escuela secundaria local , Coast 2 Coast facilitó talleres de fotografía con los estudiantes y la identidad comunitaria . Los estudiantes se fotografiaron a sí mismos, sus intereses y sus alrededores, preguntándose a sí mismos la pregunta: "¿ Quién soy yo?" y presentaron sus fotos a sus compañeros y maestros . Como parte de la presentación , Coast 2 Coast presento cortometrajes realizados por otros jóvenes de toda América del Sur y el Hijo del Pescador de la Patagonia . Los estudiantes se identificaron con la crianza de Ramón y se inspiraron por su forma de surfear, y viaja mientras mantiene conexiones muy profundas con esta comunidad.
