Join us for our 2016 international workshop series on participatory documentary filmmaking and empowered storytelling in an enchanting coastal community with local residents and our international team. Our workshops focus on applying audiovisual tools for community-building, marine conservation, youth engagement, and positive social change. Participants are creative educators, photographers, filmmakers, artists, and students interested in using the art of storytelling for transformational purposes both for the storyteller, production team, and audience.

Through film the kids are able to see their community differently, to begin sharing their visions with one another and with the world at large. Volunteers come and go, but the important thing is that after we leave, the kids have the support to keep telling their story. Lobitos Cinema project is building those skills and support networks for the kids to continue learning and creating.
