Cuando una botella de plástico llega al océano, se demora, mas o menos, 1000 años en degradarse completamente. En ese tiempo los pescados comen el plástico y nosotros comemos pescado. el plástico no solo esta escalando en las cadena alimenticia, sino que va entrando a nuestro ADN… pensamos que eso esta medio raro. Lo mismo piensas los pescadores y sus familias en Lobitos, Perú.
El mural, realizado por miembros de la comunidad, fue facilitado por Lobitos Cinema Project y la idea es re-usar las botellas de plástico en vez que floten en el océano, floten fuera de la mente, y después floten fuera de nuestras creencias.
When a plastic bottle drifts out to sea, it takes roughly 1000 years for it to decompose fully. In the meantime, fish eat the plastic and we eat the fish. Plastic is not only making its way up the food chain but its way into our DNA. We think that's creepy. So do the fishermen and their families of Lobitos, Peru.
Facilitated by the Lobitos Cinema Project, the Lobitos community joined together to paint a mural promoting the reuse of plastic bottles versus letting them float out to sea, out of mind, and later into our bellies.
